Morning all,i bought my zxr400 couple of weeks ago here in ireland when i bought it it was still on belgian plates, yesterday i took it into a garage to get forks seals done and the bloke said that it looks like it been wrote off because it has small dent in frame. Can this be true it isn't a big dent.He keeps going on about how i should of bought the one in his shop and thats what i get for buying private.could he just be saying this because i didn't buy off him he did nothing but slag the bike off when i got there about needing this and needing that for the bike and when i've spent all this money doing mine up i could of bought his.

think someone here had the same problem a while back, if i remember right it had been filled with filler to hide it.can you not get a HPI check done or is it that a UK thing?

is there another 'dent' on the other side in the same place?
Ive got 3 L frames and they all have dents there... i would'nt worry about it mate, ride it and see if it feels ok.. or you could get it jigged for peice of mind.
edit, just check around the stress points for cracks to make sure tho!

looks like its on the bend, the std dents are closer to the headstock.

Its only a small one it looks like is was dropped without the fairing on and hit something. But it is the same side as the fork seal thats gone and that side of the tyre has worn alot more than the other, its starting to get me thinking now.

i reckon 90% of zxr's have been down the road/track by now mate. dont worry about it. if it rides straight and true, and there are no cracks around the headstock, rearset mounts and engines mounts then she's good to go.

Where in Ireland are you ?
I doubt if you could get a HPI check done on a Belgian reg numbered bike.
There are small dents in the frame to allow room for your thumb/hand/bar.
Tyres can wear unevenly due to the camber in the road and fork seals can go at anytime...................like others have said if it rides straight and true and there are no cracks then odds are it's fine. Stuff that dealer he's just pi55ed at missing a sale
If your near to me I'll take a look for you.....................or if your near to Dublin then go to Skerries road races next week and come find me in the paddock and I'll take a look then

Also just realised that the speedo clock is in mph but the bike is from belgium and its kph there so someones been messing which means the bike hasn't done 20000 miles which the clocks say.Anyone know where i can get kph clocks as were kph here in ireland.
