Thinking of booking Donnington evening session for 14th July (my first track day) - But just wanting to know what time 'evening' starts and finishes?
@ £55 I think its a bargain

When I went to Brands it was 17:00 - 20:00. Only 2 groups tho so we went out every 20 mins which meant we went out about 5 times. It's pretty knackering because by the time you're just starting to cool off, you're being called into the pit lane again ready to go out! It's relentless!
Pretty sure evening sessions have a very strict noise limit, so bring a stock exhaust or baffles in case you fail the test. My friend spent the first session hammering coke cans down his exhaust.
Get some pics too! I'd love to see some ZXR action at Donnington.
Have a good one

Says 98db.
At what revs / distance from the exhaust is this measured? And is their anyway I can check myself beforehand?
Would hate to turn up to be too loud

Think you tend to get there for 4-4:30ish at Donny...they have sign in and briefing, then depending which group you're in (novice/inter etc) you either go out on the track or wait to be called up. Then finishes 8 - 8:30. Think there's normally 3 groups in the evening, so you get about 3 sessions in all, each about 15mins on average. An evening session is definitely the way to go for your first track day, as crushedlizard said - it's pretty knackering! (but awesome fun!)
Regarding the noise limits - yes they are very strict! At various points around the track there are decibel sensors linked directly to the council. If one of them is triggered, the marshalls will black flag you for that session. Unfortunately, if you haven't got a standard can or a baffle, they won't let you back on the track and you won't get a refund!Sometimes there's a baffle man there who will make a baffle to fit your can, but he only tends to be there on full days.
The scrutineers will normally go round and check your can if it isn't standard...if it's a straight through I don't think they'll even let you on, but don't know for sure. Not sure if garages have decibel metres...might be worth ringing a few places. Or ring Donny themselves and see if there's any way of them checking for you.

I think it has a standard can on it? (Have seen a few with the same can anyhow, lol)
BSA stamped on it also?

I think it was about 7000rpm and the prod is practically down the exhaust. Because he was standing so close, he could see what revs you were at so no real way of cheating. Plus I imagine he's heard enough engines hit 7k, that he knows if you're being timid.
Thre was no baffles guy at our trackday so my mate had to ride around to a local workshop outside the grounds. He wasted a session.

8k revs for a zxr400. He should be holding his sensor about 2-3 inches off yr exhaust. If they stick it down, tell him to do it again properly!
but you will deffo want your road exhaust for that one id say
