Anyone know of a campsite in Bournemouth that is easy to get to the town from (maybe even a drunken stagger)?

Having a quick Google but having to go through them all one by one at the moment.

Need one that's reasonably cheap
Pref has electric hookup (for VW Camper Fridge :smt002 )
and would accomodate 8 or so gentlemen having a few drinks before he signs his life away to married life? :smt003 (not me, a friend)

i lived there for 4 years an nothing springs to mind close to town centre - the only real park in bournemouth itself is a reknowned dogging spot - so i wouldn't try there ! and beach is closed off to cars at night.

Cheers. I'll remember that one for the future, think we might have to go with a b&b for this one as everyone wants to be nearish to the town. (Budget is a bit low as it's a 2nd stag do and the first one has pretty much cleaned most out :smt001 )

There's a travelodge on Christchurch road which is a stagger away from the drinking area of town. Also near the red light district, if it's gonna be a messy one. Lol.

I've known people to park their campervans in derby road and crawl back there after drinking for sleep.

I know a good all night taxi triver who'll make suer you all get back to wherever you're staying at any time of night. If you want her number, let me know. She might do you a deal, if you're polite.

I think there will be quite a few bevvies consumed along the path of the evening so god knows where we'll end up with that lot :smt003

Looks like the closest available Travelodge is Southampton or TravelPremier Inn at Christchurch East for £65

I'll keep looking around for what else I can find, I'll let you know if we need the taxi number though, that could come in handy :smt023

You can get a bus from near the christchurch east one into bournemouth town for about £3.00 return, a taxi back after 12 will be about £9.50.

Ah, that's not a bad idea.. Looks like there are loads of suitable grounds for a tent and camper in Christchurch. I can see a plan hatching here. Is it a long bus ride? from the map looks to be 30mins+ ?

It's not too long, yeah about 30 mins, but it stops everywhere including cliff top / sea front. The trick is to get off the bus at lansdowne, opposite a KFC and walk downhill toward oneils and then you're on for the pub crawl. That'll knock 10 mins off the bus journey and add to the drinking time.

Taxi is about 10-15 mins tops. There are a lot of mpv types around here too, and Nite, (my taxi driver buddy) has 3-4 london cab stylees on the go at nights. They'll get you where you need to go. When you spllit it between a few of you, it works out pretty darn cheap, too.
