I got restrictor kit fitted on saturday, would my bike still benefit from getting the carbs balanced or would it not make much of a difference.

No reason why you shouldnt, any kind of maintenance has got to be worth doing. And if your doing them yourself you should do them regularly.

correct. youll need to to cylinder the screw between 1 and 2, then 3 and 4 and finally the one between 2 and 3. I have written a workshop guide on carb balancing on the main site, the example shows 4 gauges but its exactly the same you just only have 2 and youll have to swap the gauges around the cylinders accordingly as you do it :)

redexrobb, hope you don,t mind, but i,ve copied your excellent article on carb balancing, and it now sits in my little folder under the pc!! biggrin very well written, and easy to follow, right thats enough of the grovelling!! my 400sp is fine at higher revs, but at junctions tends to bog down?..any suggestions?..cheers ted

that'll be your idle mixture then. Am I getting this right that its an SP with a restrictor kit? Like muzzling a rotwieller?

The SP cam profile gives bugger all at low RPM anyway and when I tried it on ZX4 cams it wouldnt rev clean past 4k no matter what settings I used so really dont know how to set up the idle circuit on an SP. Bet someone around here does tho!
