Ive had Diablo's on the zxr since i bought it.160/60/ 17 on the back and a 120/70/ 17 on the front. Grippy as hell on the butt but wasnt inspiring on the nose when cornering. i just thought it was cos i was still getting used to the bike.

Until Now!!!!!!

the diablo on the rear started peeling off in the centre (ill get pix when i can be arsed) so it had to go. I didnt have the £ to buy a new one so i grabbed the Bridgestone BT090's from the project bike that have only done about 300 miles and boshed them on.

OH MY GOD its like a totally different bike, handles loads better, getting much more lean on roundabouts and the front doesnt feel like it wants to slip away from me cos there is no wobble. 160/60 17 rear 120/60 17 on the front. I am loving it. the fanny bands, chicken strips, pussy lines on the right side are under 1/2inch but stil about an inch on the left.

Bridgestone for the fucking win peeps :D

Yeah i always thought 090's were good, but since having avon viper sports id say they were the better tyre. Its all about personal feel tho. Strangely it was on the 090's that i thought the front was going to tuck under, i dont get that with the vipers but i think that was more to do with the fact ive dropped the yokes as far as they will go.

I think one of the reasons that i wasnt totally happy with the diablos was cos of the greater profile on the front, supposedly to give the bike a larger footprint while cornering but i felt like i was fighting to keep it going where i wanted to go

you have to drop the forks a little when using a 70 front, that may have been part of the problem especially if the rear shock is original too

I absolutely swear by my Avon Viper VP2 Sports! Got em for £180 fitted by a mate who runs a tyre place up the road from me, sticky as glue even in the wet! Warm up fantastically! Not got a bad thing to say about em :D

They seem to be wearing incredibly well too! Done about 1K miles on em so far and they barely look worn :D

Looks like normal wear to me!

I've had loads of tyres of differing brands all do the same. Your problem is simply you should have changed them before that! It's harder to see with that tread pattern, but they're what we know as 'shagged'. :smt003
