Battery Terminals

Post by U_h0rnet5 »

Hi people,

Sorry another quick question, what is the black and yellow wire for that comes out from the ' - ' terminal of the battery?

Cheers

Cheers Rob,

Would this cause the bike just to cut out if it is not connected properly?

As the bike that I have just bought passed the MOT the other day :excited . Just as I was about to start her up it was dead, so the guy at the station got the jump pack out fired straight away. However on the way home it just completely died coming up to the lights! It sounded and look as if the battery was dead which it probably is but after waiting for a while I managed to jump start it on the second time. Though before I had notice that there was a bit too much oil in the window.

I did notice a drop in power when I turned the lights on?

Again coming up to some light it just cut out again, got it home and as I was pushing the start button the rev needle shot up to like 10000rpm and nothing but a bit of a wiering sound? I charged the battery up again and it fired fine.

I am going to be getting a new battery this week, do you think that it is just a power problem?

Cheers

Could be that the battery has had it, or maybe even the reg/rec. Generally though, once the battery has been run flat thats it. Might be an idea to trace through all the loom and just make sure all the connectors are clean, no wires chaffed through and shorting on the frame.

How much more oil is in there? Wouldnt have thought thats your issue but to be sure get the level right just to eliminate it.
