Read the bottom line! Also, try pushing in the needle rod on each float valve and check that it springs out when released. If it is sluggish or does not move, it needs replacing.

You can get the manuals from the main site, they are free

JPN ZXR250 A2 (1990) - Revs to 19,200rpm... 'nuff said :smt003

This diagram isn't quite working for me... when the carbs are placed like the diagram they just hang... meaning bending tangs makes no difference

That specific view is slightly off, imaging that diagram above but rotated a bit more clockwise. Maybe another 20 degrees.

I. E. The tang should be contacting the needle, but not actively pressing down on it

Rgr. That's what I've gone with however I'm flooding my engine in cylinders 1 and 3 when turning it over. Generally this would be due to the floats being to high however I'm setting them at 11... eventhough when I took them off they were very mismatch but all very high, way above 11. I've ordered new float bowl gaskets (as I split the ones I had from them being so dry) they happen to come with new needles and needle holders. Hopfully this might help setting the floats, haveing good, new, clean needles...
