Hi there bato, it sounds like there may be some dirt inside your carbs or the float needles have worn.
Id get them apart to clean them and also check the float needles and replace if necessary.
hope that helps

Re: carb problem fuel leaking
Hello again bato, im glad you have the carbs sorted. If the noise coming from there is a tapping sound it may be the valve clearances need doing. Have you taken the bike for a ride? The valves may be noisy because of a lack of oil at the top end where its been standing for a long time.. Let us know how you get on.

Actually, on second thoughts, does anyone else think it might be the cam chain? I think if the clearances need doing the engine will be noisy through all the revs.

Hi
Yes you have right .Valves ore something about valves creating nois hole time.I think cam chain is not because sound is like (litle hamer) I thing problem is in the seesaw.

Re: carb problem fuel leaking
Mine would make a little tapping noise between 5500 RPM and 6000 RPM and it was the camchain (came from the top right hand of the engine). I replaced the tensioner aswell. I should think yours is getting to about the right milage for valve clearance checks, but I'd check the camchain and tensioner as-well. The tensioners work out about £75.

Hi
I think problem with soun is finish.
I have change oil and sound disappear. In the old oil I find petrol (result carb licking).
For now soud is OK.I have to testing bike for a some time and then I can create full diagnose of my zxr 400.
Thanks for hints
