Hey, I was just wondering does every zxr400 come with carb heaters or are they only on certain models?

Thanks

Sweet, so will this stop the carb icing issue? Also what is carb icing as I have no clue what happens?

It will work if you have the spigot in the back of the engine block that allows the hot coolant to flow round. You will also need a T-piece that would normally fit under the genny cover into the coolant hose.

Carb icing occurs for the same reason the an aerosol gets cold as you spray with it or a gas cylinder gets cold when your burning gas on say a cooker..................the flow of the solvent as it boils and turns to gas...............draws heat from the surrounding area or container.................and if it is very cold the temperature drop cause ice to form on the outside of the container...............or in the case of your bike the petrol boiling and turning to a gas draws heat from the surrounding area (carbs) and ice can form on the outside or even inside I suppose as air has a certain amount of water vapour that can turn to ice

I think something like that anyway.....................

I think I have some of the pipe work that goes to each carb.................I'm guessing that you would need the carbs from a bike that has the carb heating and that you can't just connect up any carbs....................

probably not, hotstarting has to do with either (depending on who you ask) fuel evaporating from the float bowls, poor battery, poor battery leads, incorrect fuelling, coils breaking down under heat, knackered spark plugs...the list goes on.

mine was down to the fuel air mixture being too rich when the bike was cold...heating the air around the bike and the engine only makes this problem worse (hot air needs less fuel vapour), mine was cured by turning each of the 4 the pilot adjuster screws 1/4 turn clockwise, this restricts the amount of fuel/air vapour on startup/idle and allowed my bike to fire up better when hot.
