A request for main jets please...

Hi guys, its coming up to payday (friday) and i will be looking to put bigger jets in my bike (either 98, 100 or 102's) but i dont wanna spend ~£40 when i might only need one set of jets (i.e. 100's) and not need the other two sets...so if someone has some spare 98's, 100's and/or 102's that i can test out my bike with that would be excellent!

Bike is running sandy bike spares downpipes with stock can, de-snorkeled airbox with k&n filter. Pilot is K35, needle is N77S with 1 shim between needle and slider, currently K95 mains on all 4 carbs, pilot air screw is 3 turns out from fully in and the float bowls are set at ~12mm.

Pilot settings are spot on and the bike fuels up to ~7-8k fine, but anymore than than and it needs the choke to properly run (bike gets a bit hesitant). So if you have some spare main jets can i borrow them for a week/fortnight? I would post them back once i know which new ones i need to buy. Or if someone can assist me in making a bit more of an educated guess as to which jets to buy to start off? I can defo afford to buy 2 sets, i was thinking 98 and 100 and try them out, so all 4 carbs with 98's, then swap #2 and #3 carb for 100's, then try all 4 carbs with 100's...seems sensible to me. Once the fuelling feels fine by me ill take it for a dyno before the new can comes for christmas :D

Thanks.

many years ago now i had an L4 with pretty much the same spec plus a micron race system.. that ran perfect with #105's

my suggestion would be #100's or #102's

i'll have a look in the workshop tomorrow and see if i've any suitable jets spare.

if not then contact either http://www.allensperformance.co.uk/ or http://www.motorcycleproducts.co.uk/ for jets at a sensible price

hi aimm, thats where im looking, prices are fine £10.10 for 5 jets...not got any problem paying for them, but i would rather narrow down my search first, otherwise i potentially need to buy 4-5 lots of jets when only 1-2 will go in the bike...cheers for looking though, let us know what you find, your micron race system will flow better than mine, so i think 105's will be too big. i have tried the bike with (this is from a race system btw) 116 mains and dynojet needles (clip on 4 out of 6, with 3 shims between needle and spring) ran ok once it was above 6k rpm but pilot was almost non-existant, and i think it was flooding above 10k...if you have anything from 98-102 i would like to try, as i said before you will get them back, unless you really really dont need them ever again...
