Changing carbs

Post by AlexH »

Hi folks just wondering if it's possible to swap carbs from a '02 for a set from a '98 model. I know they're both L models so I can't see any reason why not but it's always good to double check with guys like yourselves.

Cheers

As far as I'm aware that should be ok.

Just check if they both have the "Icing" circuit on them or your have to block it off etc

needles and main jets may differ. If so fit the ones from your original set.

Also, might be worth checking if the are both either 30mm or 32mm carbs.

The ZXR400 UK model has 32mm carbs, some of the JDM L models have 30mm carbs.

Coolant hoses that run along the back of the float bowls. There too prevent carb icing
