bouncing revs

i have got a problem with my idle it just wont stay where i set it one min its at 1k then its at 3.5k then back down again
and i have this loud sucking noise from the engine

anyone know what it is?

I had my Carb Rubbers replaced and that sorted it for me. I think they were approx £30 for a set + fitting.

Which bit is the carb rubbers? My bike's also doing this, but its going on the dyno soon anyway.

Not sure. Ive got a mechanic that does my work. All I can change is brake pads.

He did say that he used a paint brush around the carb rubbers that had some fule on it. That stopped the bike sucking air in through the perrished rubbers and it idled ok. Thats how he knew it was the rubbers.

good luck, Im sure someone can tell you where they are and how to replace them.

get some carb cleaner and spray it around the carb inlet rubbers (wd40 will probably do the trick too?) whilst the engine is running, if the bike revs start rising then there is a leak somewhere, could well be perished rubbers, check all jubliee clamps are tight.
