Also i read earlier today that compression at 12:1 should use 108 RON but ofcourse u can only get 99 in the UK, and that winter cold can lower the octane, also that my compression is slightly higher at 12.5:1 coz of a bore kit. so im urging towards using a higher octane fuel.

Who bored your engine? Might be best to ask thier advice?

Higher octane you have the better bang you get. As normal i run 97 in mine, i never really notice a difference between the 97 and 99 tho. You could try Avgas for high octane, its aviation fuel but the price is a bit on the steep side!

Apparently BP has brought out a new fuel which is 102 octane! Ive been told that it added something like 50bhp to a porshe 911 GT3!!! I think it costs £2 ish per litre though!!!

high octane fuel doesn't give more power, it just allows a higher state of tune before the engine goes pop.

well i use it for town n country use, so reliability n better running is preffered over power. i was told also that higher octane has better cleaning additives, so was just wondering if it would run smoother n better with 97 or something but without blowing gaskets or anything, as like i say its bin bored. think il have a chat with the guy aswel tho.

Well weather it gives you more power or not, my bike runs better on 97 than 95. It ticks over smoother, revs out more clenly and is much more responsive i find.
