melted air filter!!!!!!

check this out,went to replace my old air filter took it out and the cage type fingy that the filter sits on was melted,the inside of the foam filter was also melted,what the f***!!! has this happened to anybody else if so what has caused it and how do i sort it out.

Has your bike been back firing much? Thats the most likely cause. Spits flames through the filter.

yeah man its been backfiring,dodgy HT leads got new ones now,do you recon with a new filter all should be well

yeah, just replace what ever needs to be, and it should be fine, so long as you have sorted the back firing it shouldnt happen again.

Think my Honda race bike needs Re-mapping 4ft flames coming out the exhaust nearly burnt my shed down it caught the insultion on the shed did panick a bit but sorted
Top tip keep fire extinguisher to hand
