Petrol consumption.

I thought getting a much smaller bike would save me money on fuel. However my H model seems to burn it really fast.
I went on reserve whilst out yesterday. I turned straight round and rode about 4-5 miles back home. Later I put £5 in just down the road and rode 11.4 miles(thanks routefinder)to a friends, then 11.4 miles home. This morning I started the bike up and had to put it straight on reserve.
I may need new spark plugs as I've not changed them since I've had the bike, but she starts fine. It's all standard as far as I know. I do ride it like an idiot and am always in the redline, but I did with my last two fireblades and they didn't seem to drink so much. Even considering the rise in fuel price this still seems a little excesive.

Please advise?

Ride slowly :smt001

Alternatively, get it to a dyno and get them to check the air fuel mixture, theyll tell you exactly if its running right or not.

Just for the dyno run it shouldnt be, dunno where you local one is but worth ringing them up to find out. That will at least tell you whats happening plus you get to find out what sort of power its kicking out. They should advise from there on if anything needs doing.

If you start to go for jets and setup time thats when it can get expensive. The jetkit and setup time for my 7R at my local is bout £250+VAT. but just for the dyno run is £45+VAT.

Thanks fellas, I obviously have a bit of a problem somewhere then. Would bad/old plugs cause bad fuel consumption?

110 miles and I'll be going on reserve (on a full tank) I hate having to use the fuel tap. Its run out on me 3 times now.
