Getting carb top/bellmouths back on

Post by Hairbear »

The black rubber bellmouths on the ally plate.
Had them in hot water so rubber is soft but wants to sit half on and half off each inlet. This leaves steps on either side and not a nice smooth inlet tract.
I'm presuming that the rubbers should locate around the ally stub of the carb, is this correct?
Is their a special trick? Do I need new rubbers or shall I just put bellmouths on - non ram air?
Cheers
Gareth
