H1 radiator filler cap

Post by Max4music »

Ok, I know I'm not the sharpest tool but this one has me stumped. :smt017 Where is the filler cap on the radiator on an H model. I'm used to the L model that has it nice a clear on the righthand side.

The manual shows a filler on the on side of the rad, but then mine is an H1 SP and has a small flat rad. Is the only filling method via the overflow bottle under the fuel tank?

i believe so. But really, if your bike is well mantained, there shouldnt be a regular need to keep filling it.

What they said, the H1 rad is sealed unit so when refilling from scratch you need to beeld at pump (if it has one) and keep the top of the reserviour bottle and top up until coolant returns back, workshop manual on the front of the site will confirm procedure, will need to swot up myself as build two will have the smaller H1 rad on it :smt017
Nothing worse than having an H and not being able to scratch it !

Indeed, Ive not long owned the bike and am just starting to go all over it sorting out all those little probs. Brakes done, Swing arm bearings done but now the cooling has defo got a few issues...
