I bought a multimeter. Turned out it was old, returned stock, and they'd left the 9v battery in there to go completely to hell and leak viscous, viciously acidic fluid all over the inside of it and corrode most of the components and circutboard.

last one i bought the screen had already fallen out !

take it back and throw it at them then buy one from somewhere else.
