Hey all, i took my bike apart during the week to sort out the misfire, and i tightend up some bits and put new gaskets on the rocker cover, and 'O' rings between the airbox and carbs, but ive out it all together as it was and it wound sart so ive took the tank of twice to check and everything seems to be in order and i was wondering if anyone can think of summing stupid i may have done? also the batt has died just after trying to start the bike due to sitting in last owners garage for a year, so ive put that on charge so could it be that not working on the fuel pump?
sorry its so long :/
Thanx
Chad

what did you do to sort the 'misfire'?.........sorry to say it but if it run before you must have disturbed something or not put something back properly.does it now just turn over and not fire?does it back fire when trying to start it?
if you have had the carbs off sometimes they take a while to fill back up with fuel before bike will start.
fuel pump only operates when fuel in carbs is low other wise doesnt run permantly.

Hi,
you should be able to here fuel pump working when it filling up after removal clicking noise till its pushed fuel through so that will be give away if at fault.
I have had similar prob will turn over but battery kept going flat battery was at fault not enough power to generate spark worth testing if i remember right battery should be over 12.8 amps at the positive terminal to hold a charge.
Let me know how you get on good luck hate these niggles.

Thats what i was thinking what have i disturbed and while it was apart i replaced rubber gaskets on the rocker cover, new o rings between the carbs and air box, and the betal clamps on the carb intakes were loose so i thightend them. The fuel pump does cluck, but because the battery was getting low i wonderd if it was stuggeling abit. The battery is charged now so im going to give that ago in a bit but if it doesnt work i dont know whats wrong as everything seems ok

Have you checked you are getting a spark when you turn the bike over? just seems to run in line with a misfire problem at the start.
Let me know mate how it goes!

No worries now it starts fine with a charge in it, and the mis fire has gone so the bike is as sweet as a nut
