Hi, finally got round to putting my engine back together today, put new basegasket on, put barrels on, put new headgasket on, put head on sorted through cylinder head bolts to sort out which 2 were longest a previous owner has had the longest ones in wrong holes, put them in right holes nip them all up finger tight get the torque wrench out start tightening them down get to bolt 7 (the first of the 2 longest ones now in it's correct position) and :smt013 it just turns the previous owner has stripped the thread in the block so now ive had to remove head/barrels/pistons again so i can go get the block timeserted 2mrw. now question is can i reuse my nice new base gasket it does have a slight impression in it and i assume there's no way i can reuse the nice new headgasket even though it's never been ran as it has a nice head and barrel pattern pressed into it so i take it ill have to order another 2mrw?

cheers
chris

I'd say just reuse both of them..........................

I can remember that RMKD told me he has on occassion reused a head gasket and I have reused base gaskets repeatdly
