STRANGE BITS IN MY ENGINE HELP PLEASE

Post by cargo »

I've just pulled my H model engine down and found some little bits of metal. Two bits where sitting up on top of the head in with the valve gear and two where in the sump.
They are steel and fit together to look like a peice of washer.
Problem is I can't see anything wrong and there does not seem to be a washer missing anywhere.
I've got a picture but I've no idea how to post it on here so if you think you may be able to identify these bits please e-mail me and I'll send it to you.
thanks guys

No definately not shims.

The four pieces I have fit together exactly I'm certain that it's one item that has gone AWOL.

Fitted together it looks like part of a washer but I can't find one missing.
I've studied all the exploded drawings I can find.

I would also say that the engine was running fine in fact it's been just sitting there since I finished the Manx with it last year

Might just be a washer thats got in somehow, from when it was last stripped? Thing is a washer is usually held in by something, like a nut. So if a nut has gone missing also you might find your answer.
