This isn't a problem with my bike, just when changing my cam chain I noticed the cam lobes are a 1-2-4-3 firing order, what's the advantage just out of interest? Thanks

its to do with minimising engine vibration and overall crank balance.

				And heat dissipation.
Think about it, if it went 1234 then the time for 1 to fire after 4 would be huge.

Whole crank rotation, would then need a balancing shaft like on some thumpers, thanks was just on of those weird questions in my head, but why heat dissapation?

To stop things melting/warping etc etc
The zxr400 is one of the most overly engineered bikes EVER.
It has very tight and sp[specific tolerances that it works within.
The time between the sparks give the cylinder time to cool down, not by much but just enough to stop a hole from ripping in time and space.
And no-one can be arsed trying to fix that little clusterfuck.
