Bike is getting it's valve clearances done at an OEM dealer.

Just off the phone with someone who works there, apparently something that channels the oil near the cams has broken off ("literally crumbled" he said)

The part cost is £78. :smt009

Any with any idea what part the mechanic was talking about?

Hopefully he doesnt mean the cam caps. That usually happens when the bolts arent undone evenly.

Whats more worrying is that the cam caps are head specific, you cant just put one on off another engine you need a whole new head.

Alternatively he could mean the joint at the end but they are only £35.

Could also mean the pipe that runs on the right front of the engine. Thats a pricey part but if all they are doing is valve clearances no need to be touching anything external.

You saying the joint at the end does sound familiar. Have you any idea what the part is called? I had a look here: http://www.kawasakioriginalparts.com/ka ... 1999&ca=GB but couldnt find anything that rang a bell.
