Been trying to search around the wonderful web to clarify some things for me, can't find what I'm looking for!

If you have already know, my bike went pop! Piston in number 3 has a hole in it and the head is beyond repair.

What engines will bolt into the ZXR400 frame? I have a 1989 H1.

I've read somewhere that the ZZR600 engine is basically a drop in job, all be it that you need the ecu and a few other bits and bobs of course.

Could someone clear this up with me? need to know what I need to drop a 600 engine into the ZXR400 frame? Cheers!

the zzr600 engine is NOT a drop in fit, the rear engine mounts are offset in comparison to the zxr400. I know AMS fitted a zx6r injection engine into a zxr but they had to cut off the engine mounts and have new ones made and alloy welded onto the frame.
So if there is an easier engine to fit I would also like to know what it is.
