Removing Rounded Timing Plate

Post by JamieNeve »

Hi Guys,

Just in the middle of replacing my Cam Chain, got to removing the timing plate, and have found that the 19mm socket is rounded to f**k, so I am not even going to attempt to remove it the traditional way.

Is there any other way to stop the crankshaft from moving and getting the 6mm allen key bolt off? I thought that putting it in gear and holding the brake in would work but the crank seemed to still turn when I tried this.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Rattle gun

However getting it refitted with a rounded off 19mm hex wont be so easy
