In-between shims

Post by Grooveski »

Just throught I'd point out that there's a crew on ebay selling shims in 0.025mm increments.

They're in Germany. The shims are ProX(from Holland). Took about a week to arrive but all three of the ones I was after(after shuffling - 6 were out shocking ) would have been tighter than I'd have liked with a 50micron change so it was worth the wait.
They're not the cheapest either but you pays your money and takes your choice.

might use them on the race bike - saves me having to use a surface grinder each time...they are very expensive though, almost 3x standard price...
UK ZXR400 L3 (1993) - Fully restored and on the roads, my green beast!
JPN ZXR250 A2 (1990) - Revs to 19,200rpm... 'nuff said :smt003

Balked a little at the price as well.
Post shuffling though all the other clearances were sitting pretty about ¾ of the way up the range. It wanted in-betweens for the others to match up and what can I say - it's my wee baby and more often than not gets what it wants. :smt002

Sorry - should have said - a lot of the cost is postage. The shim prices are actually pretty good but there's £9 postage which would have brought my order to the same amount so I just went through ebay for convenience.

If someone wanted lots of them(or had bits to buy for a crosser as well), better off using their real website.
