SP gearbox identification

Post by Miles »

Happy Xmas everyone,

Just a quick one. While waiting for Xmas lunch to appear I've been sorting out gearboxes.

Thing is I thought the difference between a SP box and standard was the first gear. But my teeth on the gears are all over the show.

Would anyone know if there's a marking on the SP boxes or a better way to identify them?

Happy Christmas

That's brilliant buddy. If you could do me a big favour and count the teeth on the gears from the drive sprocket end on the SP box that would be a big help

Also the gearbox defo has a different 1st gear. Much longer 1st gear on the sp but thats on the seat judgement from me. The road racers here prefer the sp box as this suits those circuits better!

Hello everyone

I've been trying to find a way to distinguish an SP from a STD gearbox without having to count gear teeth etc. Does anyone have a photo of an SP gearbox they can post here?
