L & H crank cases

Hey folks. Now I've checked the part numbers for the L , 14001-5315, crank cases and the H2 crank cases and they have different part numbers.
Can anyone confirm if they are the same or not? In other words will H crank cases fit L parts?
For seem reason, even though the part numbers are different, I seem to think the H1,2 & L crank cases/bottom end was the same
Maybe I'm wrong and L crank etc won't fit into H cases
