Piston ring end gaps

Hi people, I’m looking for advice on piston ring end gaps. I’m refreshing my race engine and the manual spec for end gaps on the ring seem large compared to other 400cc engines I have worked on. I was wondering if anyone has any idea what would be a good gap size and if I buy genuine rings do they normally measure up any good, thanks.
