Hi,
I have recently bought an 03 reg ZXR400 and it seems to have a Renathal rear sprocket (either that or someone just stuck an 'R' sticker on it).
Can anyone tell me how many teeth a standard rear sprocket should have?
Also, first Sunday ride out and i have blown a hole in downpipes (Sounds like some crazy 2 stroke monster now!), any opinions on the best aftermarket replacement, it also has Micron end can!
Cheers

hello mate and welcome to the forum
I believe the standard rear sprocket size is 45 teeth.
As for your pipe check the header nuts are all tight first, i thought mine started blowing but turned out to be my loose end can vibrating the header nuts loose.
If not then these guys can get you new Beet systems if you got the cash

check ebay, i saw a few micron sytems on there earlier today, also theres a company on there doing stainless systems:

Cheers RobB, I'll be counting the teeth before my ride to work in the morning!
As for the exhaust, no I wasn't looking to spend that much!

Wow!
Maybe later in the year, gotta fix me car at the moment (Gonna be dear!), so I've been thrown in to the deep end of biking, only passed test on Monday and this is my first ever bike. It was only supposed to be a Summer toy, but already turned into daily commuter.
Gotta say I love it though! It was a bit daunting at first, thought my BMW was quick, but me bike takes the urine out of it. Just as I started to get confident on Sunday, noticed how loud the exhaust had got and limped it home.
I seen them new ones on eBay, but has anyone on here actually fitted one? If so are they any good?

And check those exhaust header nuts too! You could be paying out for nothing otherwise!
Ive got a beet system on my ZXR, luckily for me it came with it!

yep, as rob said standard is 15 teeth on the front and 45 on the back, with 110 links of 520 chain thrown in for good measure.
however 14/47 is much more fun if you aren't obsessed with top speed or motorway economy!

RobB: We can't all be as lucky as you eh? :smt013 , I'll defo check the nuts 1st, but its make such a din, I'm sure it'll av a hole in it somewhere!! Cheers
Deviant: I'll be checking front and rear and if they are standard I'll defo be replacing for 14/47. Motorways ain't my thang, but pinning it is!

, thanx for the info
