nose from the engine?

Just got my 93 ZXR and when it is ticking over it seems to be making a 'dinking' noise every revolution
anyone any ideas what could be??

Does it go away if you pull the clutch in and blip the throttle?
Where is it coming from? Right side of the engine? Same hot as cold?
ZXR's apparently, rattle.
You need to be more specific.
