hi

i'll plan to replace my timing chain, but now, i'm rebuild a 750 ZXR engine, and i cannot removing the chain ...it's unremovable from the crankshaft , a small casting of aluminium let only no enought room to remove it.

did i must open the whole engine ??? i'm worry about this procedure on my 400 zxr...

regards

Laurent

hI
it is possible to remove the chain by 1) wriggling the chain 2) grinding the cast away.discussed many time b4 on this forum.
please see this topic for more info viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6414&st=0&sk=t&sd=a ... +cam+chain

ok thkx for the answer, i'll try to wriggle it
but is -it dangerous to drill or cut the cast parts ?

this isn't a path or a guide for the chain ?

I've ground off the casting on my L3 and other than making sure no metal dust gets in about the crank have no issues at all. Get a dremel and grinding disk and get in there LOL.

Cant comment if this works on the 750 but on the 400 the casting doesnt do anything other than get in the way!
