ARRRRGH! Whats the difference to the noon SP loom????sloweracing wrote:Yes the engines are interchange able and wiring is the same
But the L sp is different in the wiring loom to the normal h (only s.p version)
If it is a straight swop L engine into a H chassis it will work okay
Good luck
I've just transplanted a standard motor into my H"2 SP chassis! Will the ordinary motor need the ordinary loom?
Not got it wired up yet, so asking this silly question!

Yes the carbs are the same
We cant run flatsides carbs so i know nothing about them at all sorry
There are a few things that are different but i dont know what chassis you have or what engines you are changing over so at a guess
L sp has a different E.C.U than standard and ignition advancer as well so a standard engine wont run in a L sp electrics
Frame okay etc on all models H + L all the same just electrics and advancers are different
Hope that makes sense

I'm running CV carbs and I have a standard ignitor too, so it sounds like I might not have too mnay probs afterall! Looking at the lefthand casing it has a bolt for the expansion tank ala the L models, so i'm presuming it's out of an L model bike. It's kinda complicated, because I bought an H1 bitsa unfinished project as a donor bike!
I'm just geting it up and running so I can give it a shakedown run at a trackday at Silverstone at the end of this month.

Sorry to highjack your thread Rob! I should have mine running tomorrow, if I find any proble,s I'll let you know.toykaboy wrote:well im thinking of putting a l model engine in my h2 frame neither are sp's or have been changed that i know of?
cheers rob
An L model motor went straight into my H2 frame, so I can't se it causing you any problems, juts hook it all up as per the original motor and it all should be good.

I run 3 engines in my H2 frame
one is a H sp engine
L model not sp
H1 model not sp
We now have run a H sp for a year and half racing with no problems
so there good little engines
I also have changed the wiring loom over to a race loom on the H and put a L model loom in its place and now i can run a L model ecu which allows it to rev more than the H model
Gets a bit too much some times
L model wets H model drys
L model wiring Loom with L model ecu uk
Hsp engine in a H2 frame
L model swing arm
L model fairing (race)
the list goes on
