Clicking noise. Cause for worry?

Just wondering if any of you guys think that the clicking in this video of my bike, is cause for concern ? Tried searching but nothing that relevant came up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71IJjvYg9Bo

I'm reasonably sure that it is not meant to sound like that. Seems to go away after 8krpm ish. Sounds like its coming from just under the "ZXR" decal on my tank, about that far along, just a good few inches below it.

What do you reckon ? Camchain, tensioner, valve clearances ?

Any other soundclips or info needed, I'll gladly get it for you.

Thanks in advance,
Monstrous

Upon reflection, it doesnt go away after any rpm, it just gets too fast to hear it proerly, whilst beign drowned out by engine noise.

When i first got mine it sounded very similar to yours maybe a bit worse .......

I removed my carbs and stripped and cleaned them till they were shinier than a shiny thing ,also got a new airbox as old one didn't seem to seat right and had bungs missing .

ne hoo put it all back together and it ran fine which pleased me no end as i was thinking camchain, enginey bits and i no nowt about engines ....

Redexrob heard mine before and after and he will tell u it was 100% better .......just remeber to turn on your fuel tap because that can be slightly embarrasing when u start hearing a clicking noise and it's ur fuel pump ticking like mad cause fuel is turned off...... :pmsl I know as i've done it

It wont be the fuel pump, I've tried the tap on "On" and "Reserve".

It's just that the clicking sounded like something touching something else, so not sure if that fix would work for me ? Or did you have the same type of noise?

mate honestly mine sounded like a bag of spanners until i cleaned out carbs then it started to run lovely ,i was going to give up on it because i thought it would end up costing me to much to get it running ..I had a very loud rattly noise which sounded to me like it was coming from engine i couldn't believe how i was ready to throw in the towel..

Take them carbs of give them a good clean inside and out check mixture screws and then get them balanced ,if it still rattles ask for more help as carb cleaning is as far as i have got :pmsl

mines doing something similar. comes in at about3000 rpm. i think its clearances. i have checked my chain tnsioner and all is well. carbs are very clean! as i have cleaned them. i have just put my exhaust back on and its a much better fit so i think its could be due to back pressure. checking them properly tomorrow, so will let you know

i replaced my end can for a standard one as the carbon one which was on bike was extremeley loud and sounded like a jet taking of, so that wasn't going to pass mot but what i did notice as well is when i put the standard can on with some exhaust sealer it also ran alot better ans now sounds normal

Mine sounds the same.
Took it to a local independent garage & the guy there tells me he's had the head off & the cam's & followers are worn.
