EBC clutch kit failure

Need help please, replaced clutch following rebuild from g/box fault. Fitted a EBC srk series & went to take it for mot test, clutch failed after 5 miles due to overheating & failed in disengaged state I.e. as if clutch lever was pulled back to bars. Spoke with EBC it appears that spring kit supplied in kit is totally incorrect for H & L models they list a “csk006” spring kit for both models on closer inspection this makes the Csk006 springs 10mm & 3mm longer for H & L models respectively along with far higher spring rate basis.
Stripped clutch after recovery & replaced plates with foc EBC ck series friction plates, clutch still stuck in disengaged state on reassembly, also now have a binding problem with clutch basket when in neutral & 2-3mm play from basket to input shaft in a horizontal axis. When first reassembled there was no excessive play on basket.
