Maxxis sport supermaxx

Post by spudboy6 »

Had a set of there'd fitted yesterday at my local kawasaki dealer swindon for £185 ride in ride out , cheaper than specialists

I'll keep an eye on millage and shape , its a toy really so I don't use the zxr much but will report back

They've been through some heat cycles now and scrubbed in and very impressed , changes direction and turn in is faster then the batalax and they grip like toad to a blanket very confidence inspiring

Anyways I'll report back as and when but don't be put of by the price ( eBay £148)

There great quality

I think i have a supermaxx on the front, 120/70.
Tips in like a fat lady falling down the stairs :D

In all fairness though, with dry warm roads anything will stick like toad to a blanket.

Are you running with an increased profile?
I can't see how the changes direction and turn in is faster otherwise.

It may just be me then ,

Running the standard size 120/60 and 160/60 from top of my head ,

Tyres are a funny thing aren't they everyone has their own views but I really like the maxxis stuff , I did consider bridgestones s20 hyper sports but was told they last 5mins

It's called "New Tyre Syndrome".

Because your old set gradually got worse and worn and used and shitty you didnt notice the change that much, then you jumped into a new set.

I'm also running on the Maxxis Sport max tyres, they have briiliant road holding capabilities and give more confidence than my old set (Battlax BT52). My rear has squared after just 2000 miles though, so be warned! They last a good while though.
My friend is also envious of them..got his knee down with half an inch of tyre to go! (He wasn't hanging right off either!)

Would definitely recommend for the dry weather :)
