H,J and L wheel hub & damper question?

Post by Mori Man »

Hi All,

I have an H1 rear wheel and wondered if I can fit a hub and cush drive with inner spacer from an L model.

Kawasaki have no stock of H cush drives in Japan :smt010

Thanks for your input :smt001
Nothing worse than having an H and not being able to scratch it !

The early h1 are not the same as L model or h2, If you are desparate you can fix pieces of nylon to the worn faces till you can get new ones .Have done this on race bike when stuck . lots of messing about but will get you out of muddle .

I picked up a complete L model wheel which arrived today :smt001

I can now report that you can swap the Hub and cush drive into the H wheel.

It requires a new hub bearing as the L axle pin is 20mm and the H is 17mm, just make sure you use an H inner sleeve too!

Was there problems with the early bikes having too much snatch like the 1st ZZR's and they modified the cush drive & hub to eliminate it?

Anyway - happy chappy :smt003

Have now started the overhaul/clean up process so once my post count is up there will be oodles of photos to show .....
