bridgestone 090 shortage !

just got off the phone to bridgestone and their main trade supplier after ringing round all day trying to get some 090's and having ZERO luck (apart from one place that could get me a front), no 160/60/17 090 rear tyres in the country for ............

4-6 weeks !

not many 120/60/17 fronts either

bought some dunlop alpha 10's.. see what they are like .. (cheaper too)

think the alpha-10's are supposed to be designed for small bikes, so might be quite good.

If you like your pennies, don't get one. On the other hand, it has come in useful for me, a couple of times. It does open the random splurge avenue though, so be vigilant!

after 110 miles round pembrey circuit on a hot sunny day ..

I like them a LOT.. god knows how long they'll last, or what they are like in the wet, but on track, fantastic, loads of grip, loads of stability.. maybe a bit quicker steering than 090's but all the better for it.

Had alpha 10's on my TZR125RR Belgarda when I bought it, and couldn't really fault them - Apart from that they square off well too fast in winter when its cold and you just can't get the lean on!

Last approx 1400 road miles, before swapping for 209GP's. which were GREAT when HOT and DRY, but FATAL when MILDLY DAMP / OVERCAST. lol

i know one guy who races on 090's...

personally i think alpha 10's are better on track than 090's.

done 7 races on mine now, holding up well.

keep meaning to try supercorsa's.. but like you say its £££
