46t rear sprocket

My Bike: Kawasaki ZXR400

46t rear sprocket

What difference could I expect if I swapped out the standard rear 45t for a 46t, no point in buying and fitting if it makes little difference. Also my front sprocket is quite loose on the spline, the retainer is ok and bolts tight, is this normal. Cheers.

You can use the gearing commander website to properly look at the changes, but the main differences will be that your wheelbase gets slightly shorter, you engine revs for a given speed will be higher etc...

As for the sloppy sprocket, yes it should be a bit loose. If you look directly at it and turn it to the left or right that should be a positive engagement, but it should have some slop when pulling it towards yourself or giving g it a bit of a wiggle

If your gear box gearing is standard and a standard 15 tooth sprocket on the front you'll loose approx. 3mph off your top speed but should gain rate of acceleration but will be shifting up sooner. If this is what you want you might want to drop the front to 14 teeth as well.
