Chain length

Post by wilko »

Hi All,

I have been searching the forum and looking at old threads i cant find my answer. I have found that a 110 length chain fits over a 14 front 47 rear sprocket set up, Will a standard chain length fit over a 14 front and a 48 rear? as i am thinking of going for this set up. or even a 50 rear.

:smt003 Thanks in advance.

here is the calculator you need...

http://www.gearingcommander.com/

pop in the standard size and note the length, then play around with various gearing ratios/sprockets/chain link lengths until you wind one that will be ok for you.

Thanks for that Banner I will have a good play about with that. I had a quick go and the chain links don't seem to change, but I will try and work it out from the distance travelled. Cheers for you help
