If you're on standard sprockets then you need a 520 chain with 110 links.

There's a continuous one on Ebay right now!!! :o

:|

If you don't want to take the entire bike apart just to get the chain on, try http://www.bargain-biker.co.uk - they do the cheapest chain/sprocket sets around and they're as good quality as anything else!!!

Oh, and you'll be wanting at least and O-Ring chain - if you want the dogs danglies of chains pay a little bit more and buy an X-ring chain  they're supposed to be well-worth it!!! :D

See you again in 15-20,000 miles when i've forgotten everything again lol!!! :P

Someone must know sprocket sizes??

16/44 rings a bell with me.... Don't take my word for it though!!!! lol:| Most places you order from will be able to tell you your standard chain/sprocket sizes anyway!

ok thanx for that, gonna try some sprint racing, will have my first attempt with the set up I've got then if I need to change the gearing I can go from there. Least if I know whats standard I can get the right chain length although will probably be ordering longer chain so I have spare links to swop in or out as I mess about with the gearing :?

oooooooooooh this is gonna be such fun

I recommend a 14/47 setup which I what I ran on my zxr.....means it will piss over any other 400 (and be a bit light on the font end:wink:) but still top out at about 130mph

ok thanx will keep that in mind, before I start buying stuff will just avago first then take it from there. Big plans for next April when I do flyers @ RAF Woodbridge, completely different gearing required, wanna run a true, timed 140mph minimum! Dunno how fast an unmodified zxr4 engine can go :?

Will take a little bit to crack 140.

I've got a full beet system with a K&N running @ 63bhp. Mines downgeared to 14/45 and tops out at about 133 but thats at about 14k, optimum power is about 13k so I'm tempted to upgear it again to see what kind of speed I can get then.

if u r just using it for sprint racing just go 14 front 47 rear the difference is massive as u dont need top end on a 1/4 mile.
thats what i run and i wont be goin back

Kawasaki's listed top speed for the stock ZXR400 is 143mph.

Obviously if the engine is a bit tired it'll lose a few mph, but otherwise i'd have to say that i believe that top speed.

It's also gonna depend on whether you take your big furry ears off the side of your helmet! :P
