Brake problem

Post by Bailiff46 »

Hi,

When I am on the brakes hard I get a shake through the bars then as I slow down it is still there slightly.

I have checked headstock and they are fine also checked discs aren't warped and they are ok too?

Any suggestions?

Regards

Buckled front wheel? My rs125 gad a distorted tyre on the front where it had been sat for so long and did the same thing?

how did you check the discs? you would need a proper runout tool i believe? the slightest warp not viewable by the human eye would cause shake at braking, have you checked your wheel bearings?
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

You need to be looking at everything at the front end that moves.

Could even be something wrong with a brake pad

To check disc runout tape or cable tie a nice fixed pointer onto the fork leg ( a small screwdriver for example) put the tip of your pointer close to the disc..............now spin the wheel and watch carefully to see if the disc moves away from or towards your pointer.......................
