Fitting front discs

hello there,

i was wondering if anyone could give me a brief guide about how to replace my front discs. i dnt no if its complicated or not but any tips or things to watch out for would be gd.

Ive been riding far to much this TT fortnight over on IOM so thought id treat myself to some new discs!!!

Take wheel off, curse alot when bolts are stuck holding on discs, bolt new ones on

front wheel.

first unbolt the calipers (otherwise the wheel won't come off).Undo the 2 pinch bolts on the bottom of the right hand side fork leg, then undo the front wheel spindle bush from the RHS and remove, then undo the 2 pinch bolts on the LHS which will enable you to push/pull the front wheel spindle out and remove the front wheel.

undo the disc mounting bolts which should be loctited in and no doubt you will round the cap heads off trying to get the old ones out, get a decent hex key socket it'll save you a lot of hassle, may be worth keeping a blow torch handy to apply a bit of heat to stubborn bolts (just watch the seals covering the wheel bearings)

remove discs and refit new ones.

Oh you naughty boys you've forgotten something......................

One reason for the disc bolts being tight and hard to remove is that they are held in place by thread lock.
When you refit disc bolts make sure you use a litttle thread lock on each bolt
