Knocking front brakes

My bike has developed a rhythmical knock at the front end that goes away with braking.
Any ideas what could be causing it?

We've had a thread on this very subject recently.................turn out to be cheap nasty after market brake pads that didn't fit properly.

Are the anti rattle springs still fitted ?

The thin metal pieces that press down on the pads?
I used EBC pads but they've been ok for a few months.
