Would it improve the handling.I can't afford a updated rear shock and was looking for a cheaper option.
Thanks

Re: Fitting a gsxr k3 shock
personally i'd keep to a shock thats made to fit for the ZXR, keeps the dimensions correct and means no fettling with the chassis

Re: Fitting a gsxr k3 shock
i thought it was only 0.5mm shorter in length? im not sure how common it is but i wouldnt of thought it would make too much difference. might even get an uprated gsxr shock cheaper than an uprated zxr one off ebay.
anything is possible with enough time and money. and an open mind...

Re: Fitting a gsxr k3 shock
just fitted one to my racebike, drilled the bottom of the shock out to accommodate larger bolt and welded washers to the height adjuster bit that fits on top of the shock/bolts to the frame. rear subframe requires modification as well as battery tray

Re: Fitting a gsxr k3 shock
Just fitted a gsxr 600 k2 (red spring) to my h1 racebike
I did not have to cut my subframe, i had already cut my battery box
but could of got away with a spacer underneath it.
There was no need to cut anything off the swingarm i just backed off the preload and rotated the spring untill it had clearance.
Hardest part was drilling the top bush, just go nice n steady

Re: Fitting a gsxr k3 shock
Or don't drill it at all and weld a washer in the correct size for the gsxr bolt, no chance of ruining the bush thenmarti wrote:Just fitted a gsxr 600 k2 (red spring) to my h1 racebike
