L model rear shock manual section

Post by mxs »

Is it me or the rear shock section in the L manual is missing? I will need to reset a ride height to stock (bought a bike which someone lowered).

http://www.zxrworld.co.uk/Manuals/L%20M ... r%2012.pdf

The H model has the suspension complete, but has nothing about the stock location of the top shock mount etc. Anyone knows? I can figure it out, but will not have much time, as I will be in on vacation and want to ride instead of wrenching on a bike or figuring out a setup. ...

Thanks

I should have been more descriptive ... I have no problem to do what you did, to download the pdf files, but if you open the chapter 12 you attached there's nothing about rear shock ... :smt017

Ah,

Section 12-4 has the specs for it, what exactly are you after?

Stock mounting position of the rear shock (actually need it for the front forks too). In another words I want to set the bike to stock ride height. There has to be some section about rear shock mounting and removal. it does look like it's completely missing.

12-4 section has only a table with rebound and preload stock settings, nothing about settings effecting ride height though

Sure, I can ride as is and start slowly dialing it in, based on test rides, but I will not have a time to tinker around .... I hoped people here would have known, since many had their bikes apart as I can see.

So you want to know how high the top shock mount sits into the frame?

Set the rear shock to stock settings, as stated in the manual, then adjust the hight adjuster so that the seat is 760mm from the floor with the bike standing upright.

That would work ... where exactly do you read that?

BTW, anything on the stock position of the front forks in the triple clamps?

I got teh seat height info from the specs page
http://www.zxrworld.co.uk/zxr400/specs.html

AFAIK, the forks sit in the clamps as far down as possible without gripping the fork tops.
