Use stock forks but send them off for a refurb and some progressive springs.

Get a race monoshock from ohlins/nitron/penske

Using suspension from a heavier bike wont do you any favours unless you modify them.
I had a zx6r shock on my zxr400 for a month or so, was far to strong and made for an uncomfortable time.

Ditto CaNsA, Wilbers are a good bet too, Ohlins on mine, difference is amazing, hard to find them though.
Maxton will rebuild the forks for you, not cheap.

Stock forks are excellent a full refresh makes them like new. Maxton are among the best for that job. I have heard that one Fireblade models fork internals will fit and is an improvement over stock. 2004 ZX6R forks are a bolt on fit you need the brakes and front wheel too. I have this on one bike and it's a grand job. You need the right size clipons too.

Rear shock Ohlins every time for me but any of the well known after market shocks will be better than the stock one. Carefully set up is vital with any replacement shock. Spring weight static sag and damping settings.

I'm feeling particularly kind and generous today.
This of course has nothing to do with the proposed sale of a certain bike.
