emc rear shock help

Hi everyone new to the forum and very nearly ready to post some pics of my 91 zxr. I've just brought a second hand emc race shock for it, the shock is in excellent condition but I've no idea which of the 2 knobs at the top are for rebound and which is for compression, has anyone got an idea how to tell? It's not ready to ride so can't test it yet.
