Hi people,
Wanted to know if there are any more up to date shocks from other bikes we can use on our L models?
Maybe i'm missing a thread but all I seem to find is J reg (or similar age) gsxr & zx6r shocks, I don't mind doing the few mods that these shocks require for my 400 but surely we can be putting in more up to date ones?? Just havn't found the confirmation of newer upgrades that we can use (with small amount of mods).
I'm not racing but have done a few track days and plan to do a lot more!
Getting new Ohlins/Nitron isn't really in my budget
Thanks for the help in advance guys.

You can actually fit almost any shock and it will somehow work. If it works good? Modern shocks are way harder and there is like nothing else they differ from those of 2000
I'd recommend Zx6r F or even better gsxr 1000 k1/2 or gsxr 750 k0/3 shocks

Re: Updated rear shock upgrades.....
don't bother buying some old crap
just do what I did, and fit a brand new zx6r shock.....go on ebay and you will find loads of zx6r shocks from 2013 - present, all brand new, because the zx6 is a mega popular race bike, so the standard parts aren't needed.
all you have to do is use the zx6r top mount as well, and then it will just bolt right into the zxr.....no changing bushes or any of that rubbish.
ive had a brand new zx6r shock on mine for over 1000 miles now and its been perfect ..... and it only cost £100, for a brand new one.

Re: Updated rear shock upgrades.....
Dc1989. Sorry to ask about this one more time but I'm a bit confused here. My son has a L9 and it seems to me that this zx6r rear shock wouldn't fit because of the reservoir on top of the shock. At least not without any modification on the battery box and / or a cross member in the frame. Which model bike you have and which year shock you're running on it ? Thanks in advance.
