Best Shock for ZXR400 H?

Post by Little Loris »

What's the best (and best value) rear shock for the ZXR400 H model?

I have the spring but no gas! Any way I can get these seperate or get it re-gassed somewhere?

Cheers ears! :smt003

You could try Maxton suspension they can rework a old spring

Or on my race bike i run a Techno-flex same price as a Ohlins but horses for courses

Ohlins or techno - flex will fit a H2 model

I've got a technoflex on my L9. Seems that every rebuilder hates them though. Seems they're great shocks made by a bad rep company. HAve you found the same?

recently discovered that my L shock is dead - the plates at the bottom are rusty. I have felt it is a little soft anyway. I read that gsxr600 shocks fit, then was told zx6r's do aswell. Some of the zx6 shocks (the early ones) have remote resevoir, do I need one of these, or will the piggy back resevoir fit also? No way of measuring one up , so hopefully someone will know.

I think the piggy back ones fit but you need to alter the battery box cos its in the way.

My bike to be is an H and the rear shock is great by all accounts, plenty of rebound dampening left in her.

Best shock for the H imho is the OEM one. Loads on ebay ..

the 6r shock with piggy back resevoir doesn't fit. Its 3/4" too long for starters. The battery box would need obliterating not modifying. Holes at the bottom are the wrong size aswell.

Just bought a H shock, hope that fits.
